The Recaro seats would not be my first choice here; too tight a fit. (bolsters too narrow) But aside from that it’s a fun & scooty car with a slick shifting 6M trans. 252hp motivates 3,200lb pretty nicely although the exhaust note is sadly lacking. And those tape stripes are a bit too boy-racer for my taste. I’m pretty sure that Tangerine Scream yellow glows in the dark.. Hoping I can get my grubby mitts on an RS later this year when they’re out.

I love these cars, the Orange paint seals the deal! I hope they keep it in the next generation. How does it stack against other hot hatchbacks? It’s getting up there in age, I know the fourth generation focus mule has been seen testing in Europe.

It doesn’t quite feel as punchy as the Golf R, but then again it’s at a 40hp disadvantage. Still, the VW feels a little more raw when you flog it where the ST is more composed.

I’m very tempted to get a FoST for my next car, but it will have to be a base model. Those Recaros are a no-go for my fat ass.

I don’t have a copy of the window sticker, but I think the Recaros are a standalone option. They are on the Mustang GT, anyway.

Unfortunately, they Recaros are standard on the ST2 and ST3, gotta have an ST1 to get normal seats. There aren’t too many other options I care about, so it’s not too big of a deal. At least it’ll be cheaper :)

Buy ST2. Craigslist the seats. Use money to buy ST1 chairs from dealer (or boneyard). Drive happy.
